¡¡¡¡According to Shao Shiwei, head of the media and publicity department of the Beijing Organizing Committee of the ISF XI Women's Fast Pitch World Championship, on August 21, 2006, a total of 423 media from in and outside China have entered their names for coverage of the upcoming softball worlds at the Fengtai Sports Centre Softball Field. The number has exceeded that for the recent  Beijing World Junior Athletics Championships by some 100.

During the ISF World Championships TV broadcasters from different countries and regions will televise as many as 28 games, which  shows that the tournament in Beijing's first newly-built Olympic venue attracts great attention not only from the participating teams but  from media across the world.

According to the Organizing Committee, since August 20 teams from the United States, Greece, Chinese Taipei, Canada and  Australia have come to Beijing for pre-competition training.
